Cammarata, a Plymouth native, is as dangerous as they come in the offensive zone, as he’s a threat to beat you with his shot, a move, or his passing. Cammarata absolutely tore it up at the U-16 level for Shattuck as he demonstrated his ability to be a game changer. Cammararta has continued his success in the USHL and has showed that his size has little to do with his ability.
Cammarata’s puck control skills are unbelievable; he often is creating space for his teammates or scoring opportunities for himself. His ability of handling the puck is so good that at times it looks as if he’s simply playing keep-away from his opponents. Cammarata Is a adequate skater with good agility, has demonstrated his capability to turn on a dime and accelerate quickly.
Cammarata skates with his head on a swivel, always surveying the ice for possibilities. Has a deceptively hard shot which he can release quickly, and with many different looks. Occasionally, Cammarata gets a little bit too neat with his playmaking, but overall he has a great understanding of the game. Will have to do a bit more in the defensive zone but this is not a glaring weakness.
Cammarata is undersized but it doesn’t overshadow his unbelievable talent. If he continues to show progression in the USHL, Cammarata should be an attractive prospect for the 2013 NHL Draft.
