Horton is an offensive minded defenseman that has a good amount of tools at his disposal. Has demonstrated that he can be a spark plug that energizes the team. Horton is a good skater, demonstrating good balance and excellent mobility. Horton is an ideal candidate to quarterback a power play thanks to his great puck control and inept decision making.

Is not a big player but shows that he has competitive edge and is willing to sacrifice his body in order to succeed. Horton is a quality prospect that does a good job of winning a lot of the little battles during a game, such as, winning battles for loose pucks, gaining zones, and making good outlet passes.
